Hot and forgiving defined
the G5 Fairway wood upon its introduction. With large, forgiving stainless steel heads and a high-strength 455 steel face, golfers the found the rare combination of space and accuracy in the five-club series. Adding to its reputation for performance is its rocker sole design that helps ensure square face impact from a variety of lies.
Like all PING metal woods,
the G5 Fairway Woods have robotically welded, precision-broken up faces for augmented performance, including higher ball speed for greater space, better sound, and a “hotter” feel.

A thinner, more responsive surface area provides most space from the super steel face. The variable face thickness is machined and robotically plasma welded to extremely tight tolerances for uniformity.
Optimal center of gravity positioning is achieved through the use of progressive weight pads. As loft increases, the pads go toward the back of the club for added control and spin in the higher-lofted woods. The rocker sole design helps square the face at impact.
