Ping G10 (Irons)

Ping | Irons

The 17-4 stainless steel G10 irons are engineered with extreme low toe weighting to boost the moment-of-inertia for added forgiveness and uniformity. The large, perimeter-weighted head features a new cavity shape and wider sole.

The centre of gravity is positioned away from the face and low in the club head to promote higher launching, lower spinning shots. By making a new shape for the Custom Tuning Port (CTP), PING engineers stabilized the hitting area for consistent ball velocity across the club face. An elastomer CTP insert helps produce a solid feel and sound. The wide sole provides forgiving ground impact and contributes to the high launch characteristics of the iron.

“The cavity design of the G10 allowed us to add a lot more performance to our large headed, most forgiveness iron option,” said John K. Solheim, PING’s Vice-President of Commerce. “We’re able to remove weight from the face yet make it even more stable than before. The weight is then repositioned in the low toe to drive up the MOI and boost forgiveness. It’s a game improvement iron that will appeal to a variety of golfers.”

The G10 irons feature a stainless steel shot end and Atomic Orange colour scheme and are unfilled in 2-9, PW, UW, SW and LW.

Bought a set of G10 irons with steel shafts (had graphite for many years)en suite by the club pro. Accuracy has improved significantly, feel off the club face is fantastic and most of all, confidence in the clubs is high. I have used them a dozen times and absolutely like ‘em. I am a mature age golfer who has lost some length in contemporary years but the accuracy of these clubs collective with the return of some metres has renewed my interest in the game. Possibly I should have tried Ping long ago!

Fantastic set of irons. I haven’t got these yet, but they are certainly on my wishlist. I’ve been trying them and have found them much simpler to use compared to the r7, burner XD, Nike Slingshots and Srixon I-701s. The clubs are extremely forgiving. The heads seem to just genuinely slide through the ball and launch it. The ball flight is higher then I’m used and it doesn’t carry as far as an equivalent r7 but thats what I like about it.
